Marine Monitors from Kimmirut, Clyde River and Cambridge Bay communities are collecting information on vessels activity in key areas where shipping is of concern.

For the pilot phase, Marine Monitors are responsible for recording vessel observations, behaviour and environmental conditions, including wildlife or habitat disturbance. The information collected is sent to the IMMP Program Coordinator and will be put into a shipping bulletin for the community at the end of the season. NTI and partners will also use the information to inform policies and marine management.
